2012 Constellation of Stars Meteors

Dr. Martha Lundell

Martha has been a professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Texas at San Antonio for over 15 years. She has been responsible for defining and augmenting curriculum standards in the undergraduate degree program so that students will be excited about the teaching and learning process as well as show high success in the courses. As Chair of the Departmental Academic Policy and Curriculum Committee, Martha has provided the leadership leading to a change for higher rates of graduation. Martha helped design the first doctoral program in the college which has not only offered additional opportunities to students, but also allowed for recruitment of outstanding faculty. Dr. Lundell mentors students, especially women, who may be first generation college students. They rely on her to help them understand how to achieve their goals and graduate. Over half of the students in the biology program are women! Congratulations to Dr. Lundell for her METEOR Award from the Women's Chamber.
