               Madeline Slay

Madeline is the president of the Madeline Anz Slay Architecture Company that was established in 2000 and has 11 full time employees with locations in San Antonio and Laredo. Madeline serves on the City Council for Balcones Heights. She is the immediate past president of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Working as a mentor to other women, she established the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Women-In-Design Committee to help women become architects and understand that they can be highly successful in the business world. Serving as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for St. PJs residential home for children, she offers her services and resources to enhance the lives of the young residents. Madeline created a jewelry design and fabrication company to provide resources for a Catholic Education Fund named for her grandmother. Madeline regularly volunteers her time and resources to the Visitation House, a safe haven for women and children escaping from abusive relationships. Additionally, she volunteers as a mentor for the Northside ISD Mentorship Program. She has received a myriad of awards on the local, state, and national levels, including the National Association of Women Business Owner's Entrepreneurial Leadership Award and the 40 Under 40 Rising Star Award. She now has the official title of RISING STAR from the Women's Chamber of Commerce.

        

                Sonya Medina

Sonya is Vice President of Community and External Affairs at Silver Eagle Distributors, the largest Anheuser-Busch distributor in the nation. She oversees all aspects of charitable contributions, governmental affairs, consumer awareness and education, communications and public affairs. Prior to joining Silver Eagle, she served in the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and Director of Projects for the First Lady during the Bush years. Prior to working in the White House, she served as Director of the AT&T Corporate Foundation wherein she over-saw a $120 million budget for charitable giving. Sonya has also worked for the Republican National Committee and UNICEF. She works on numerous boards to help children in our city as well as on the College Ready Texas board that provides leadership and guidance to improve college readiness programs by aligning high school curriculum with college standards. Sonya has earned a myriad of awards at the local, state, and national levels. She has received the 40 Under 40 Rising Star Award and the Greater Chamber's WOW (Women's Opportunity Week) Award. La Prensa honored at the Outstanding Women's Awards Gala. Sonya has been inducted into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame.
